Format

One-on-one or small group, tailored to your needs. Classes are scheduled as needed — not on a fixed calendar. Julie works with each student to find a time that works.

What's included

  • Step-by-step instruction in handmade soft-sculpture technique
  • How to work with found cloth and materials
  • Finishing and embellishment with found objects
  • Writing a story to accompany your finished doll
Before you begin

What to gather

  • Basic sewing supplies — needle, thread in neutral and accent colors
  • Cloth scraps and fabric remnants (worn, faded, or found cloth)
  • Optional: buttons, beads, lace, notions for embellishment
  • Optional: small found objects (keys, shells, dried flowers)

Space & setup

A quiet, well-lit space where you can focus for 2 hours. A table or lap workspace for hand-stitching. Comfortable seating and good internet connection for Zoom.

Skill level

No prior doll-making experience needed. Basic hand-sewing ability is helpful but Julie can teach beginners. All ages welcome.
