Terms of Use
Last updated July 2026
These terms cover your use of this site and the process for acquiring work from Diaspora Dolls, the studio practice of Julie Brannen in Savannah, Georgia.
How pieces are sold
Work on this site is sold by inquiry. There is no automated checkout. Listing a piece here is an invitation to inquire, not a binding offer of sale.
When you send an inquiry, Julie Brannen will reply personally to confirm whether the piece is still available and to arrange price, payment, and shipping. A sale is only final once payment has been arranged directly with the studio and confirmed.
Because every piece is one of a kind, a work may sell between the moment you see it and the moment you write. The studio will always tell you promptly if that has happened.
One-of-a-kind work
Each doll is made by hand from found and salvaged materials. Variation in cloth, colour, wear, and small irregularity is inherent to the work and is not a defect. Photographs are made as faithfully as possible, but screens vary and natural materials shift over time.
These are collected art objects and decorative soft sculptures. They are not children's toys, are not tested to toy-safety standards, and may contain small or fragile found components. Please keep them away from young children and pets.
Prices, payment, and shipping
Prices shown, where shown, are in US dollars and may change until a sale is confirmed. Shipping arrangements, cost, and timing are agreed with you directly as part of the inquiry.
Returns
Because each work is unique and made by hand, returns are handled case by case. If a piece arrives damaged in transit, contact the studio promptly with photographs and it will be made right.
Commissions
Commissioned work is agreed in writing with the studio before it begins, including scope, timeline, and payment. Commissions are made to the artist's own hand and judgement; the studio does not guarantee an exact reproduction of an existing piece.
Images and copyright
All works, photographs, and text on this site are the property of Julie Brannen and are protected by copyright. Purchasing a piece transfers the physical object, not the copyright or reproduction rights. Please do not reproduce images commercially without written permission.
Use of this site
This site is provided as-is for browsing the collection and contacting the studio. Please do not attempt to disrupt it, scrape it in bulk, or use the contact form to send unsolicited commercial messages.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States.
